Is there an account?
Using Skerrick needs no account. The only thing that makes one is backup, which is off when you install the app. If you never turned on “Back up my settings and receipts” in the You tab, nothing about you is on our server and there is nothing to delete here. Deleting the app removes everything it kept on the phone.
If you did turn backup on, our server holds an account id, your settings and your weekly totals. On Android it also holds the email address of the Google account you signed in with. On iPhone it holds no name and no email.
Delete it in the app
- Open Skerrick and go to the You tab.
- Turn off “Back up my settings and receipts”.
- When Skerrick asks whether to delete what was backed up, choose “Delete it”.
If you chose “Keep it” at some point, the You tab shows a card that says “A copy is still on our server”. Tap “Delete my backup” on it.
Either way, the copy and the account it was kept under are removed from our server. On iPhone you confirm with Apple first, and Skerrick then tells Apple to stop sharing your Apple ID with it. Nothing on the phone is touched, and the app carries on working without backup.
Uninstalling is not deleting
Deleting Skerrick from your phone does not delete the backup or the account. Our server cannot tell that the app has gone. Delete the backup in the app first, then uninstall.
If you no longer have the app
Email privacy@skerrick.app and ask us to delete your Skerrick account. Say whether you used an iPhone or an Android phone. We will delete the backup and the account, and reply to say it is done.
On Android, send it from the Google address you signed in with, so we can find the account. On iPhone, Skerrick never had your email, so we cannot look the account up from it. The quickest way is to install Skerrick again, turn backup on with the same Apple ID so it finds the account, then turn backup off and choose “Delete it”. If you cannot do that, email us anyway and we will work it out with you.
What deleting does not do
- It does not cancel Pro. Subscriptions belong to the App Store or Google Play, so cancel in your store’s subscription settings.
- It does not take you off the waitlist. Use the unsubscribe link in any email we send you.
What is collected, and why, is in the privacy notice.
